Rainy Days Activities for Kids

I'm looking at the weather report for the next 10 days and it looks like A LOT of rain is expected.
Does anyone out there have good suggestions as to where in the Lakes Region to take children who feel cooped up?

I + one that. Kellerhaus for ice cream will kill some time too.
Not that is kills time for the kids, but the Tilton Factory Outlets would be a half day. Why not check out Lincoln/Clarks Trading Post or North Conway, if the weather is better up there?

So long as its not lightening we take the kiddos to Squam lake science center. There are enough buildings along the trail that you can hide if the rain gets heavy. Plus its AWESOME there!

Here's your chance...

"Clean your room or the TV is off and we stay here all day!"

"Don't you have a 'summer reading list?'"

"Call Gramma. She misses you."

"Stand here under the awning while I park the car. Then we'll all go into the Mall together." (Snicker, snicker. Yeah - right!)

Heritage Farm Pancake House

If you have a half decent day you may want to try going to Heritage Farm Pancake House in Sanbornton,, NH(near Tilton) If your into pancakes, a place to go. Been there a number of times. They also have petting farm, wagon rides, etc. Just Google and find all the info.

Just realized I put the link to Jolly Jumpers which is a jumpy house rental place when I meant to put Jump N Joy which is an indoor kids jumpy house extravaganza. Here is the correct link

We used to play cards when it wasn't nice outside. A good game of Tripoli for the older kids, or Parcheesi for the younger set. Jig-saw puzzles for all ages:D

I second Squam Lake Science Center. It is my kid's favorite!!! and...if you stop in at the Sandwich Library on the way by they often have free passes for the kiddos.! There is always Chunkie's (now Smitty's) in Tilton. My kids love that place for movies/lunch. They have really great priced matinees and the new Monsters 2 movie comes out Wed!

You can kill 2 hours at the Meredith Children's Museum. It's up behind the Mobil and Fire Station.

Polar caves in Plymouth....a great experience if it's not raining real hard. It will help them burn off some energy. Also, Storyland, for a full day of entertainment.

Thank you, everyone. These are great ideas!

patman 06-29-2013 12:32 AM

Check the local libraries too...many have summer story/movie/craft programs.
