The New Horizons Band of the Lakes Region is pleased to present its final outdoor family concert for the 2019 season at 1:00 PM on Saturday September 7 in the Weirs Community Park. Under the direction of Debbi Gibson, the band will begin with a series of patriotic songs including "America the Beautiful", "Armed Forces on Parade", "God Bless the USA", and others; after which the musicians will switch to popular movie titles, such as "Bohemian Rhapsody", "A Disney Spectacular", Alan Silvestri's "A Night at the Movies", and "West Side Story", with many marches and other songs thrown in for good measure. With full instrumentation and harmonies, the concert is guaranteed to insure toe tapping by all generations.

The Mission of the New Horizons Band of the Lakes Region is to promote "music for life" by creating band performance opportunities for mature adult musicians who seek to make beautiful music together, for the enjoyment of members and audiences alike.

This is the second year that the band will appear at the Weirs Community Park, located at 25 Lucerne Ave in the Weirs, with a beautiful amphitheater and a large playground for children. All concerts are free to the public, with donations gratefully accepted to offset music and travel costs.
