At Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery two exhibits are on view:* Upstairs; Eastern Influences in Western Art explores the art of four New England artists whose work has been greatly influenced by travel to the Far East or by study of Chinese customs during different Dynasties.* Downstairs:* Art that Tells a Story is a charming exhibit about camps on Squam Lake (Frances Hamilton), a residency and collaboration in Nova Scotia (artist and Anne Garland and author Joanne Cleary), and a train ride from Paris to Lyon by Mark Stewart.* For more information about us visit www.patricialaddcarega.com.

Surroundings Art Gallery displays original artwork in a variety of mediums that focus on New Hampshire landscapes.* In addition, the gallery has a variety of folk art, wood carvings and a small but beautiful collection of stained glass panels.* The gallery has over 20 artists displaying their art work all of whom have a connection to the area. Celia Judge, Cam Sinclair, Paula Kuehn and Elizabeth Pease, just to name a few, have delivered some great new work for this year.* On Wednesday evenings Surroundings has recitals which are informal events that allow those in the area to hear some really good “locally connected talent”.* The recitals begin on July 11th and continue through August.*
Check out the summer schedule for all the activities at our website www.surroundingsart.com.
*
The Sandwich Home Industries exhibits a wide variety of traditional and contemporary craft in many media, all made by juried members of the League of NH Craftsmen.* Pottery, glass, prints, wood, jewelry, metal, stone and basketry are all on view.* The Industries are dedicated to education.* Workshops, demonstrations and classes are offered throughout the summer. Among workshops offered this summer are Traditional Rug Hooking with Linda Spear, Light and Lacy Beaded Cuff with Deb Fairchild, and Handcrafting Rings and Bracelets with Paulette Werger. Paulette will also be doing a free demonstration making silver jewelry in the gallery on Sunday July 15 from noon to 2:00 pm.* For a list of all the events and workshops going on at the Sandwich Home Industries, pick up a brochure at any of our galleries or visit www.nhcrafts.org/center-sandwich.
*
Having toured all the galleries you are now ready for an evening at the Corner House Inn.
A stroll around Center Sandwich can work up the appetite and Don Brown’s menu does not disappoint.* On Friday the 13th enjoy Sta’s charismatic acoustic rock in the pub.* Open daily, lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and dinner in both the restaurant and pub is served from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
