The Naming of Winnipesaukee

Posted 05-30-2013 at 10:03 AM by Roche Realty Group

Many moons ago, on the northern shores of this beautiful lake, lived a great chief named Wonaton.

Wonaton was renowned for his great courage in war and for the beauty of his fair daughter Mineola. She had many suitors but refused them all. One day, Adiwando,...

The chance to own a waterfront vacation home may seem out of reach if you only look at the upper end of the price spectrum where the prices for Lake Winnipesaukee waterfront homes can reach the six million plus range, but there are alternatives....

A Great Boating Option on Lake Winnipesaukee

Summer is coming. Trust me. It will be here before you know it! This time of year many people start to think about buying a place on the water so they can enjoy everything the Lakes Region has to offer from their own home base. We often have buyers that arenít quite up to speed on how much homes really cost on the lakes and are looking for...

There were twelve drummers drumming and twelve waterfront sales on Winnipesaukee in November! There were eleven pipers standing out on the Meredith Town Docks piping away about the eleven month sales total of 115 transactions...

The Winnipesaukee Tunnel Project

Posted 08-28-2012 at 02:10 PM by Roy Sanborn

Residential home sales in our Lakes Region communities were not what I had hoped for in July. I was planning on a summer of loveÖ real estate love, that is. Lots of sales, happy sellers, happy buyers. I was predicting, anticipating, and forecasting that we would have a month where sales would top 100 for the month. Nope, not in July. It is kind of like the national monthly job numbers; always...

"Ice-Out" on Lake Winnipesaukee was officially declared on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm and was the earliest ice out ever recorded. While the global warming advocates will undoubtedly point to rising temperatures caused by increased concentrations of greenhouse gases, I know better.
