The REALTOR® Twelve Days of Christmas - The Lakes Region Real Estate Market Report

There were 748 single family residential homes for sale as of December 1, 2016 in the twelve Lakes Region communities covered in this report. The average asking price came in at $666,702 and the median asking price point was $294,900. Last December 1st there were 948 homes on the market so that’s about a 21% drop in inventory! At the current sales levels over the past twelve months that means we have about a seven month supply of homes on the market. If you are thinking of possibly selling it might be a pretty good time to list!!

To get us all in the Christmas spirit once again a hearty but talented band of local real estate agents will be strolling through Lakes Region neighborhoods signing classic Christmas carols. Everyone knows our version of the Twelve Days of Christmas, but just in case you don’t and want to sing along when we get to your house here you go:

On the First day of Christmas my agent sent to me
a packet of homes for me to see

On the Second day of Christmas my agent sent to me
two local lenders
and a packet of homes for me to see

On the Third day of Christmas my agent sent to me
Three home inspectors
two local lenders
and a packet of homes for me to see

On the fourth day of Christmas my agent sent to me
Four open houses
Three home inspectors
Two local lenders
and a packet of homes for me to see

On the fifth day of Christmas my agent said to me
Buy something please!
Four open houses
Three home inspectors
Two local lenders
and a packet of homes for me to see
On the sixth day of Christmas my Realtor sent to me
Six homes worth seeing…but hey, you know how this works right? It goes on with:

Seven pools-fer-swimming
Eight foot tall ceilings
Nine high end kitchens
Ten capes appealing
Eleven offers we tendered
But then the song ends abruptly with:

On the twelfth day of Christmas my agent sent to me
A note that he surrendered

Other Christmas classics like “No Pay for a Manger,” “The Offer Came Upon the Midnight Clear,” “Hark, The Seller’s Agent Sings”, “ I Heard the Bells on Closing Day”, “ I Saw Three Offers Come Sailing In”, “Did You Hear What I Heard????”, and everyone’s favorite “Robbie the Rednose REALTOR®.”

Data compiled using the NEREN MLS system.
