Posted 04-08-2009 at 10:36 AM by WeirsBeachBoater

Glad to see many forum members came into the shop over the winter. We made some new friends and hopefully long term customers. Now the Motorcycle Season is upon us. If you are in Meredith on your Harley Davidson stop by. We Sell, Service and Do State Inspections. Hope to see as many faces from the forum during this Motorcycle season!

Wow, no Blogs since December?

Posted 01-30-2009 at 10:56 AM by WeirsBeachBoater

We must all be too busy! Sitting here today looking at the snow, with rumor of another big one on the way. Thinking Florida might be nice.... I would like to go back this year as a Bidder or Consignor Representative at Barrett Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction. I have been for the last two years as a spectator and bidder. I would go back this year, but as a paid position, So if anyone wants to buy a car there, or is selling there and needs a rep, let me know! I have free housing. I just would...

Christmas Already?

Posted 12-18-2008 at 03:50 PM by winnidiver

I just looked at this and I can't believe it has been almost two months since I last posted.
Last post I was talking about the impending winter and now it's here. There is snow on the ground and it looks like this weekend I will be using the snowblower. The weather thus far has been a little disappointing We seem to be on the warm side of the storms. We sure didn't need all that ice last week. I hope this one is all snow.
Right now I am sitting in Ohio, I have been stuck in this...

My Mom & "The lake"

Posted 11-21-2008 at 09:28 AM by SLI

My mom has spent her entire life summering @ our family's home on Smith Point. This past summer was difficult as she has some form of arthritis which is making it difficult to get around. She can no longer climb stairs to the second floor where the bedrooms are...so a stair lift was installed. She is unable to get around the property.... so she got an electric power chair that enables her to get around. She and Dad have settled into a winter rental that's all one level, warm and cozy even in...

Semi-Retirement and other of Life's Jewels

Posted 11-20-2008 at 03:34 PM by upthesaukee

Let's see...let's start with semi-retirement. In the summer of 2007, my wife and I looked forward to March 2008 and me reaching a point in life where I could file for retirement and start collecting Social Security (I will not start a debate or partake in one on that subject ). I was not in a rush to do so, and so I did not do much except go on Social Security's website and check out a few things. I already had my annual statement, and knew approximately how much I would be getting per...

Idle thoughts....

Posted 10-23-2008 at 06:54 PM by sa meredith

Some idle thoughts at work on a Thursday night, waiting for 8PM to roll around...

Am I the only one in New England still excited about watching the World Series? Was crushed to see the Sox lose, but I just can't get enough baseball. Great time of year...October baseball, and tonight (Thursday) going to light the fireplace for the first time this season...

Been only two weeks, and missing camp and Meredith more than usual...

I remember posting and debating...

The Seasons Change.

Posted 10-18-2008 at 09:25 PM by winnidiver

I have been meaning to try this out all summer, but no time. Now it's fall.Tomorrow the boat gets winterized, then it's on with the fall chores.
I really like this time of year things quiet down.I went to the VK for breakfast today, the first time since May, no lines! I can enjoy the lake we all love so well with no crowds. Even going out on a crisp morning to pick up leaves is kind of nice.I guess the only thing I miss are the longer days it gets dark too early this time of year.

Today is the Day

Posted 09-23-2008 at 02:32 PM by Justenuff

I am getting ready to fill out my "haul out" form. I took a look at the weather, and my current list of "Need to do" before winter sets in and have decided that October will have no opportunity to get back to the lake. Another season passes, and another one begins.
We will make it up after the big freeze and snow starts to fall to do a little snowmobiling, hopefully on the lake.
Now to get the parking space set for the boat at home.....

Great Time of Year

Posted 09-23-2008 at 11:05 AM by WeirsBeachBoater

I really enjoy the fall in NH.. Great sleeping weather returns, cool nights and warm days make the foliage turn, some of the best Motorcycle rides. These are just the tip of the iceberg, we also have Sandwich Fair, Snowmobile events like the Epping Grass Drags, and many other events before winter sets in. I would like to also thank everyone that put FF on at the Loon Center. I certainly didn't get to speak with everyone, but I quickly surmised I was the youngest forum member in attendance. Sorry...

Marine Police Hold PWC to a Higher Standard

Posted 09-02-2008 at 04:30 PM by bilproject

I've been coming to the lake now for almost 40 years now. Of those years I lived in Wells, ME for 5 summers and came over to the lake almost every week. Two years ago I bought on Bear Island. I spend many hours on the lake on PWC and have been given a warning once for a bogus 150' violaton. The MP kid was way to far away to see that the other boat 30ft behind me was also over 200 feet to my right. I also saw a PWC with driver and observer facing rear stopped and escorted back to dock as they...

A great long weekend at the Lake

Posted 08-26-2008 at 04:35 PM by Winni Luvr

I decided I would Blog about my wonderful long weekend at the Lake. I just returned about an hour ago from a weekend full of beautiful weather and more sweet memories.

We (my daughter Caitlin and I) arrived early Friday afternoon for our 2nd trip up to Lake Winnipesaukee this August. First time I came up with the rest of the Family....Hubby and youngest daughter, they unfortunately could not share in our 2nd trip up because of work obligations for my Husband and Band Camp for...

Well it's that time of year

Posted 08-19-2008 at 12:32 PM by WeirsBeachBoater

I can tell when people have mentally switched, and it is happening as we speak. They are already talking about summer memories, and looking forward to fall and some even to winter! School activities have started, football camps etc... My motorcycle riders are slowing down, and my snowmobile customers are starting to call and show up! Anyone looking for end of season deals on pre-owned motorcycles in the lakes region of NH. Check us out. Or if you are thinking about a sled for snowmobling in NH....

My Vacation at the Lake

Posted 08-09-2008 at 05:25 PM by Don
Updated 08-16-2008 at 09:22 PM by Don

Day 1

We arrived today for a week on the Lake. I am going to post at least once a day to this blog with some comments, observations and a summary of what we did. I'll briefly report on the restaurants we went to and anything I find interesting. We are staying on the water near Weirs Beach and hope to be out on the boat as much as possible.

The weather is better than expected today with scattered clouds and temperatures in the mid-70s. The boat traffic at the Weirs was...

10 Clues You Don't Have A Clue

Posted 07-23-2008 at 07:37 PM by CaptJP

Many new (and not so new) boaters want to appear competent on the water. I thought some of the novice boaters might have an interest in learning from others' mistakes.

Here's 10 ways NOT to demonstrate your boating brilliance:

1. Leaving your boat fenders hanging over the gunwale at full sprint
2. Tossing a line to a helper on the dock but the line’s too short and doesn’t make it, (and neither does your boat)
3. "Weaving” 30 ft in either direction...
