In an article written in the Citizen: By HARRISON HAAS

"The town of Belmont may soon have a public outdoor firing range.

Belmont Firearms and Range on Route 106 is proposing plans to expand operations, an idea seen as a benefit by both gun owners and law enforcement personnel."

I have been to the indoor range per an invitation by some friends here on the forum and it is an excellent range. I have no doubt that if allowed the outdoor range would be beneficial to area residents as well as increase the safety by giving folks who need to site in their high power rifles a better place to do this than some random area in the woods.

We use the Farmington F&G club (located in New Durham) outdoor ranges for both pistol and rifle. We much prefer outdoor ranges to indoor.

As with all such clubs, safety is primary consideration.
