Same here...I trolled from Welch island to Smith Cove up the shoreline past belknap Point to Ellacoya over to the broads between Diamond and Rattlesnake, up the broads side of Rattlesnake then made a couple passes in Alton Bay. I trolled different depths with Gray Ghosts, Mooselook Wobblers, and various other spoons...Caught nothing!! Even the fish finder only got a couple hits.

I was very surprised to see absolutely no one fishing Alton Bay from the shore!!

For me anyway, fishing stinks this year!

Largemouth Bass are biting, been to the Mill 3 times including today. Today my largest was 5.64lb LM. Caught it with a blk/blue 3/8 jig&pig with a zoom superchunk blk trailer. Others came on a 1/2oz shakeyhead with a 4 inch chartruse roboworm.

Can I guess that trolling has to be done slowly? One boat that kept going by our place was going much faster than the usual fishing boat. Will fish bite fast bait?

I got a couple nibbles off our dock and when it let go for good I lost my lure. :( The water needs to really warm up before I will retrieve it. :laugh:

Trolling should be done around 2 MPH + or -. Salmon will hit a faster trolled bait say 2.5 - 3 MPH and probably even faster. Lake trout are lazy and like their bait trolled slower say 1.5 - 2 MPH. I normally troll for both Salmon and Lakers at 2 MPH and it used to work well. This year however the fishing gods have put the "whammy" on me and nothing has been biting!! Oh well, still fun being out there watching the sunrise or sunset anticipating a fish strike. It's a good thing however I'm not living off what I catch!!

The fishing gods must have felt bad for me and removed the whammy hex they had on me!

I Went out for salmon again this past Saturday morning and only had a couple hours to fish. I caught three healthy salmon ranging in size from 18" - 21" and lost one big beauty right near the boat. All fish had no hook wounds visible and very fat and healthy.

Fish were caught using a a wood duck herron fly which was designed by a very good friend of mine and DB Smelt lure.

My son reported to me that fishing this past weekend was great. Blackey's cove, eastern sife of Governors and Pine Island were hot spots for him and his buddies who rented a pontoon boat. Catch and release of all 4-5 lb. SM and even a couple good size trout.

The last salmon I caught in Moultonborough Bay was in Mid May. That day I caught two 20", fishing 25 - 35' deep with flies (Mickey Finn and Perch Fly). Most of my friends were still fishing on the surface but it wasn't working for me. Since then, Moultonborough Bay has been very tough. I was out for 2 hrs on Friday and caught nothing working depths from 15 - 45'. I saw very few fish at any depth on the fish finder. It's a wasteland for salmon and trout.

The bass are active in the shallows in 70 degree water. Some were still on nests last week.

Caught this pike in a tuneup getting ready for blue fin season. ;)

That's a real nice fish ,but I don't think it came out of Lake Winni. Background looks more like Canada and I don't think there are Pike in the lake. Blue Fin are really scarce around the lake.

Ok, we know the fishing is good in Texas. What are you'all getting and at what depth, with what? Should I buy a 3 day license tomorrow or a whole fish/hunt for the year tomorrow?:coolsm:

I am from the very old school, in that when I first joined this website, and may I say that we have many more Gray Hairs since, that it was in fact called 'PhotoPost'!...
Now,... forums were added after and have enhanced the Views! However, when the forum threads get a little [ Long In The Tooth ], so to speak, some of us gray hairs get a little anxious and will shoot a photo to add to
an try to enhance it.
We winni some, an we lose some.

I gave up fishing many years since, but mind you, not because I don't know how or where they are... I do enjoy teaching and watching the looks in the young fishermens/ fisherwomens eyes though.
