I'll be in the Wolfeboro area for most of July and August. Can any recommend a decent gym/health club in the area? Prices? Website?
Thanks.

The nearest I know of (and I admittedly don't know Wolfeboro very well) is The Fitness Edge. With a main location in Meredith at the roundabout, I understand that they have recently opened a second location in Moultonboro on Rout 25. (Although I did not see it listed on their website)

Last fall I was in need of physical therapy and went to Wolfeboro Physical Therapy in Back Bay. While there, I was given a complete tour of the place and was very impressed with the equipment and the indoor exercise pool. I was told that they do open the facility up to the general public. You should give them a call to find out what they have and their rates.

Fitness Edge did open a new spot on 25 in Moultonborough. Holland Hill Studio (fitness/yoga, not a lifting gym really) is a bit closer http://hollandhillstudio.com/. There is also Galaxy gym in Moultonborough (more lifting)

I understand the gym at Brewster Academy is open to the public during much of the day.

There is one on Varney Road near old Community Bank & Trust - Olympia Gym (I think) and Gordo's off Route 28 in Wolfeboro Falls behind the laundry place - Gordo's open 24/7 - they give you access code - $30 a month should cover you at either one

I think the fitness edge moved into the space that Red Hill Gym occupied until they went out of business in September

My son and I have been going to Gordo's Gym for the past three summers, you should check it out. Gordo is a really nice guy, willing to answer any questions and will do a couple personal training sessions when you first sign up. The equipment is all new and he keeps adding new stuff every year. He's pretty flexible too, in terms of membership by the day, week or month. His gym is across the street from Clarke plaza, behind the laundromat. I think he is even open 24 hours now, although I never have found it to be so crowded that you have to wait your turn for equipment.
