Try Visions Window tinting

I know the owner. He is a good guy and is always looking for an excuse to come up to the lake, as his family has a place on the lake. He does jobs in the area all summer long.

Be careful with window tinting here in NH. If it isn't factory tinted ie. OEM
you may not be able to get your car inspected. I have done the aftermarket window and had to remove it on the spot if I wanted to have my truck inspected. This was several years ago and the inspection station folks told that if it didn't come from the factory with tinted windows, it was illegal in NH.
Maybe this has changed but I don't believe so. Please double check before you spend your money.

Hence my earlier recommendation of Visions. The owner cut his teeth in the industry doing cars windows, he is very well aware of the laws in both New Hampshire as well as Massachusetts. I wouldn't have recommend their service unless I was sure that they where capable of handling the job correctly and with in the laws of the state.

There is allowable tinting in NH.... you just have to stay within the specifications.

I have a friend that had to get a letter from her doctor, which then had to be blessed by the state before she was able to keep her tinting. She has to keep the state permission letter with the registration.

Can only tint rear door windows and very back window in NH under a certain darkness. All different types of tints or shades can be done, in NH you gotta keep it light.:D

I think you're allowed 20% tint in NH, but the garage needs to have a tint meter in order to inspect that vehicle. If you see a car come in with tint on it, tell them that you can't put a sticker on it if you don't have a tint meter.

:eek:I have been told that you hold your drivers license up on the tinted window and if you can read it, then its okay. I was in a friends car and he got stopped, and the cop made him put his license on the window.

I certainly understand this, How would you like to pull a car over with all the windows tinted, and you can't see the guy inside holding a 357.

I heard of that as a quick "field test" also. So why can't garages do that? Maybe they do, no clue.

My daughter had her car tinted in Massachusetts. She was able to pass inspection. The side windows and the rear windows were so dark, you can barely see in. And at night you can barely see out. Even the top 20% of her windshield was black.

When she moved to NH it would not pass inspection. No dealer would take it as a trade. Since the tint was professionally installed it had to be professionally remove for $300. She ended up trading it in Mass.

Different states have different tinting laws.
