For a March 4th, it seemed at least a little odd to me that I could go rake leaves, working on the spring clean-up on my 1/4 acre lot. The snow is at least 95% gone, the leaves had been drying out, and the temp was about 45, so I got out the rake and square trash can and started raking. All the leaves & pine needles that didn't get raked last November were still there:eek:? How's that happen?
Spent about four hours on the leaves, and at the same time, took notice of two speedy, two-stroke snowmobiles that were zooming out across the frozen lake. During one run, they skimmed across the 150' of open water between Horse Island and the main....probably just look'n for someplace to go skimming.
Ya never know....that big, two-foot snow storm ...could be just a week ahead? Leaves would be better if they was like snow and just melted away!:rolleye1:
