Hi All,
My boat cover, like my body, is showing it's age. Last fall I noticed the canvas top was breaking away at some seams. Has anyone had any repairs (re-sewing) done, and could give me a referal? I live in Moultonboro. Thanks and pray for spring!

My recomendation would be Village Cavas over in Meredith.... they or off of 104 by where Jackson Star use to be.

The made Canvas for an old boat we had that was unbelievable.... and since then I have had them do small repairs on the Canvas for me new boat. They are generally quick and reasonable.

Have used village canvas many times. They are great to deal with.

I started going over there when Bev Sr. ran the place, now his son Bev does (or at least did last time I was over there about 2 years ago). I dashed in there for a small/quick job one time and they did it on the spot and wouldn't even take payment for it (wasn't any kind of warranty job, either). I left $20 on his desk when Bev's back was turned and left.. I don't think they even knew my name. that says a lot about their character.

Bev at village canvas created a custom cover for our barge this season. Great quality work, give him a call.

Hi Eagle: So, getting ready for the summer, huh? Come help me find my anchor... anyway Village Canvas is great, but there is another place that the folks at Ambrose Cove Marina recommended also ... can't remember the name, but will try to find it.

Hi Eagle: It's Moultonboro Canvas-they totally redid the canvas for one of the boats at Ambrose, and it was a really nice job.

Your not the only one that has recieved service like that from Bev.... He has
replaced snaps for me, one the spot several times, and never asked for anything in return.

This summer hopefully, the time will be right to get my boat and mooring cover over to them to have some issue fixed... NOTE: Village Canvas didn't make the cover for me, but they have told me, when I can get the boat to them, they will do what they can to make things fit better. The cover came from the previous owner, and whom ever made it didn't fit it to the boat very well.

I too used Village canvas. Bev made a special camper canvas for my 30' Wellcraaft. I am 6' tall and like to stand up while driving my boat. So I asked him to make me one that would not be in my line of sight while at the helm.
He did a great job and the canvas still looks great 3 years later. :D

Thank you everyone! I will give them both a call for estimates. "DonnaM," I'm not sure how I will be doing this summer to dive down and get your anchor back. I underwent major surgery on November 4th, to my right shoulder (rememeber I had a "Problem with it,) and it is still not healed, and I still, do not have full use of my right arm. I "might" have to have it re-done. It was the worst surgery I have ever had to under go. This "getting OLD," is for the birds," (and I don't mean EAGLES! LOL!)

Wow. You've had trouble upon trouble with that shoulder. That's not good news. Maybe we can get togther for a BBQ at our house - you and Karen are welcome to come out on our boat, that way you can just sun & fun and not worry about docking ,etc...

Eagle,
I noticed you have a Burlington Ma address as well. I use Vinnies Canvas in North Chelmsford Ma. They just gave me a price of $900 for a brand new, from scratch bimini for a 24 ft boat. The price is for stainless steel and installation. The next best price I got from anything in NH was $1700 minimum. I used them last summer for my camper canvas. They completely redid all the seams and screens, dropped it off Friday and picked it up Tuesday all for $250.

Great work, local to us here in Mass and he uses Sunbrella stuff
good luck
