Looking for a used furniture store located around the Laconia area.
Don't want any junk, but just need a few good pieces.

I know down in SWA FLA where I try to frequent, there seems to be more 'used' furniture stores popping up, I am told this is a result of the huge volume of 'foreclosure' properties. People selling their stuff and just getting out! Sad to see this happen.... Sign of the times, especially in FLA R.E. market. I've seen some of that furniture, which can be very upscale, coming from high-end homes and condos. Unbelievable prices, just about new furniture going for less than 1/2 price!

Any referral suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks ! :)

You might try the St Vincent De Paul Society in Laconia. If they don't have used furniture I am sure they know where you can get some.

Laconia has the St VIncent De Paul store next to McDonald's, and the Salvation Army down back, next to Walgreen's.

The Etcetera Shoppe, next to Dunkin Donuts -
Meredith, is stocked to the ceiling with nice used furniture.

You should check out the Garden of Treasures near Video Choice in downtown Laconia. Their stock turns over pretty frequently. They have furniture, collectables, vintage kitchenware, linens and jewelry. The ladies who run it, have it beautifully displayed and the prices are decent. If you don't see what you want, ask. They often have items available that are not in the shop.

Happy hunting.

Thank all for the great recommendations.

Interesting note... I have a friend who is a multi-millionaire. Has 5 homes, one a beach-front condo in Naples FL. He has bought many things at St.Vincent DePaul for the condo. Maybe he's cheap or just shrewd ?
Don't know but he saves a lot of money !

Thanks.

Has anyone made any purchases of furniture at 'Lakes Region Furniture Outlet'
in Tilton on RT-3 ?

What is the quality ? Prices?

Thanks,

HI Big Dog,
I saw your PM before your Post so I thought you were looking for new,
If you hit St Vincent DePaul's when they open in the morning right after a weekend you can hit some great things, another place to check out is a place called "To good to be Threw"
It is in the brick small Mill building on your right as you come over the hill on union street heading to Laconia center from Irwin Marina, right before your turn right to go over the river into the center. It is in the building that has that advertisement that says you can relocate your business here for Peanuts

Good Luck

If you're willing to travel Hilltop Consignment off Route 106 in Pembroke (just outside of Concord NH) has great, top end furniture at very, very reasonable prices. They also have just about anything else you could want. It's become my favorite shop! I believe they have a website if you want to google it.

I used to winter in Naples. That St.Vincent store is a GR8 one! We used to go there first whenever we needed some furniture. Many of the deep pockets redecorate at the drop of the hat and most donate their (barely) used items to SVD to get the tax deduction.

I was driving from Laconia to Tilton and believe I saw a new used furniture store on Route 3 right before the Fast Cash Pawn Shop (I think that's where it was!!!!)

Looks brand new as I did not see it there last weekend! If only I could remember the name of it!
