i often marvel at how clever the old time engineers were. that was a novel way of generating forward travel on snow..

looks like the drive chains would be a weak link, though.

If those drums were watertight, I wonder if it would float... Wonder if it could reach 45....errr... never mind that one :laugh:

I liked the film until they deliberately put the horse in deep snow, and then they started whipping him to get out.

But I suppose "back in the day" horses were really seen as beasts of burden and subjected to all sorts of stresses and demands that we would consider abuse today. Still felt bad for the horse, though..
