So yes it is snow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think I heard we are to have maybe three inches? Where in FL are you? Do you know that it gets darker here an hour and 15 minutes BEFORE SOUTH FLORIDA?

Kids were jumping and spinning - happy to see the snow. The dog decided it was FRAP time (FRAP = Frantic Running And Playing)... It's all good.

It's been snowing since about 3 pm today when the misty rain changed to large white flakes. At 5:30 the lawn and the sidewalks are all white. Probably will be gone by noon tomorrow as the temp. should be 45 then.

We are in the Naples area for a nephew's wedding and will be back in NH mid week. Sort of sorry I missed the first snow.

We spent five fabulous months on Winni and are now back at our condo on North Hutchinson Island, Florida. I reallllly wish we could be up there for your first snow. None of the webcams show very much at night, so I will have to rely on the Weather Channel to see pictures. Yes, every day is sunny and warm down here, which is also fun, but we miss the lake sooooooo much.
And all the Christmas lights must be just gorgeous.

Maybe an inch-plus here in Rochester. Just drove home from Dover and roads were untreated. A small pine tree in our yard is drooping already. Gotta love winter!

There is about 3" in Laconia and it is still coming down. We hiked Gunstock this morning and they clearly are not ready for the season yet. There is a platform on the top of the mountain that has to be removed and picnic tables in the way of the lift run-outs. They have mowed the trails and removed brush. I am guessing that this snow will get them in gear and they will have the snow making in full force.

There is a prediction of another storm this coming Tuesday.

I think that I saw a sled with reindeer go by tonight. :D

Six inches of light snow this morning up here on Turkey Hill in Wast Alton. Heading out for the 1st annual test of the snow removal equipment. The back blade and FEL on the tractor should take care of this so I don't plan to put the plow on the truck today.
The pellet stove is humming away.

Waterville Valley missed out on this storm, having received just a heavy dusting of about 1/2" fluffy snow.....not enough to get shoveled.....just broomed. Too bad.......those 100km xc trails don't work too good without real snow.

How's that Wednesday snow storm look'n?

...on the M'Boro/Center Harbor line. WMUR says we won the inch war:D

The drive home from Wolfeboro last night was a tad hairy, apparently the Tuftonboro DPW forgot what sand and salt is for. Once I hit the M'Boro town line on 171 things were smooth sailing.

They're saying Wednesday is all rain:(

I drove home from work in it last night at 1am. It's not that bad if you keep your speed down and in a low gear... lots of accidents last night but I also saw some people being stupid...

of four plus inches of white powder covering the grass, trees, etc................a real white wonderland. Drove home to from Homegoods after 10 PM last night. Went slowly and fared well.

A fishing boat with two people just went by out on the water!!!!

Would seem that all is well with the world at the moment.

We're just a couple miles from you, but here at the water's edge we only got a couple inches of accumulation. The air temp. remained above freezing until almost 11 pm last night, so quite a bit of the early snowfall melted when it hit the ground. This morning the outside temp. was about 27 degrees and hard surfaces were quite icy. The high temp. only reached 32 degrees today and it's now slowly falling again.

Likewise, just a few miles from you, DRH, but a little higher in elevation, and we had right at 3 inches of fluffy but heavy snow. Most of our snow came down as really big flake type of snow, and once it started to stick to the road, it got really slick. Slow and steady was the way to go.

Interesting variations; we had 6" on our low deck and the lawn nearby both of which were below freezing through the storm. The upper gravel driveway had only 4" as it was not frozen. Down at the road, about 75' lower in elevation, there was only about 3" on the driveway.

I hate plowing an unfrozen gravel driveway, even with skid shoes on the blade one moves a lot of gravel.

We had amounts that varied from about 4" to just over 5".

I did get a few pics this morning about 9 AM along the Gunstock River behind the house. It was beautiful and peaceful on the river.

Looks like we might have another ice storm on wednesday....ugh!!!! Hope Accuweather is wrong! Yahoo weather says all snow then showers at night, then windy. That will knock snow and ice laden branches down on power lines, looks like we could be in for a repeat of last year almost a year to the day!:eek:

Before the Lake became our favorite place on earth, Aruba was that favorite place for many years.

Hi Capt Bart - don't spend too much time in Aruba. Your blood will get thin and I need my NH outfitter in a few weeks! I've already got my tickets (United...sorry linda) and the usual cast of characters are getting in line.

I am envious Capt Bart. Before I began going to FL my favorite places were Aruba in January (had one Christmas there too) and the lake in July- August.)
