Changing anodes

I'm changing my aluminum anodes for magnesium. It's a Merc Bravo 3 drive, and it looks pretty simple. I have basic hand tools and some mechanical skills. Is there any reason I can't do this in the water? I don't own a trailer.

It'll be hard to apply torque with a wrench when you are virtually weightless floating in the water. It'll help to stand on the bottom if you can and scuba weights would be most helpful for this purpose. Might want to get a mask and snorkel if you don't have a set yet too. You're bound to drop something.
