Hello,
Making possible residential move to Gilford......
Can someone tell me who is the Internet Service Provider for Gilford ?
I been told it is Metro-Cast ? Is that correct? How's the service ?
Is there another ISP for the town? I know sometimes various towns have more than one ISP choice?
Service & Speed is critical to me as I work remotely from 'home office'.
Connect to my Corp Hdqtrs via VPN.
If I loose Internet service line, I would have to make special trip to Corporate office located in Corcord and work from that location until service was fixed !
Obviously, that would not be a good thing ! :(
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated !

I also work remotely from home and have found Metrocast's high-speed to be reliable.

We live in West Alton near the Gilford town line and the Metrocast service has been good. We have high speed internet and digital cable and have just ordered digital phone service as part of a package.

We decided to pull the plug on Fair Point phone service after a series of incorrect bills. If you live close enough to the central office you can get DSL internet service from Fair point, we are too far away for that ever being an option. We are at the end of the line of a long run of old twisted pair phone wire.

I do know Metrocast is on Bear Island. Be prepared though, I heard there was issues about getting the line to your cottage.

Metrocast does not have cable on Welch. At least one owner on Welch managed to get DLS installed and working prior to the Verizon sale to Fair Point even though Verizon originally told him that it would not work.

We're in Wolfeboro. We have had Metrocast for TV and internet for awhile. Last year we dropped Fairpoint phone service and switched to Metrocast for digital phone. Their service has been very good. We rarely if ever have service issues. Boy am I glad we don't have Fairpoint for phone service anymore. They were just awful.
