I stirred up a hornet's nest not realizing "sledding" is a common term for snowmobiling in a thread I had not realized was in a snowmobiling forum. So I'm going to try to start over....
Can anyone recommend places to go sledding (i.e. on a sled with runners) on the west or north side of the lake, where I will not be running into skiers or snowmobilers? I'm looking for a quiet place in nature - walk up the hill, sled down it, walk up again, etc. Needs to be public (or private with a person who doesn't mind visitors), not daredevil steep, with a leveling out at the bottom (i.e. - some way to end the ride without hitting a stone wall, etc.), and room for parking nearby.
I can wait for the snow - no artificial snow needed......
