A young Bald Eagle was found in Millsfield that had been shot with a shotgun.

No excuse and I hope they find who did this. There is no excuse for this and if a person mis-identified this animal and shot it, this person needs to step up.

I would have to hope that no one did this on purpose, but not knowing exactly what you are shooting at is sad and unexcusable. My wifes uncle has been living his life for over 20 years now with a hunting injury that he received when the person he was hunting with shot him (twice!!!) while he was sitting behind thick underbrush.

Just wanted to post the update to this story. Part of this has been resolved and the Bald Eagle that was shot has been released back into the wild after going through some rehab.

Seems like it was shot around the time that the goose/duck season started. If this was the case, I certainly hope a hunter can tell the difference between a Duck and an Eagle.

At least he'll be ok and able to be released.
