What is the deal with the antique boat show on Saturday morning taking every space in Alton at the public dock?????

Was that posted somewhere so I will be aware in the future. It was irritating that I enjoyed the hell out of my ride all the way from Lakeport to Alton and could not dock anywhere to eat lunch at Shibleys....and boy was I hungry :D

Always a pet peeve of mine. But the powers that be feel that the antique boats are better for the town than normal boat traffic for one day. I'm sure they draw in a large crowd on four wheels.

Last week they shutdown Meredith town docks for a similar show.

Since it seems like I can never get a dock in Wolfeboro. I've been there once this season, mid-week in the rain. I'm going to petition the town for a contemporary boat show. For $10 you can sit on my boat and drink bottled water while I go to Garwoods and have some fish and a beer. :D:D:D:D:D

It is a half day, 'till noon, once a year on old home day and well publicized including here:

And it was a good show this year. We went on two wheels.

I guess my post came off a little snarky. I understand that a lot of people like the show and that it is only half a day a year.

We all have to share. It's a small convience that I have to give up so others can have their fun. Doesn't mean I can't whine a little :D:D:D

And yes, seeing it on two wheels would be more fun.

Thanks for the info...looked like some real nice boats...I was just really hungry and had no place to dock :(

I had my eyes on the Coronado at the far left docks. It was a real sweetie

I understand the irritation of these events... I have been in the same situation, stuck with out a place to park....

all in all though I believe they are cool events.... However I do wish the towns would try to reserve some space for the general boating public and not hand it all over to the boat show.....
