Hey Folks, I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a good source for job postings? I am looking to move to the area from Northern Mass, my wife already has a great job on the east side of the lake and is commuting for now so as soon as I find work we will make the move. Thanks

Have you checked the online newspapers in the area you are looking to move to? You could also try monster.com or hotjobs.com.

As a long-time recruiter, I recommend the aforementioned sites. There are so many out there, you will find. It is well worth pinpointing a few that specialize in your area of expertise.

Indeed.com is one of the many webcrawling sites -- and you should know that some postings are outdated. Same with Monster and careerbuilder -- those sites repost positions to continually populate, even when the jobs are filled or cancelled.

Jobsinnh.com and craigslist.com are a few more -- but you will also find many agency postings so you'll need to keep that in mind as you surf. And be sure to not send anything w/personal information to a blind ad or work at home ads -- many are scams.

Best advice -- find a good recruiter that specializes in your field as they will know the local market.

There is good advice in the above posts but you should also make use of networking oportunities. Most job openings are not advertised or filled through recruiters. These jobs are usually filled with word of mouth recommendations.

Don't be shy about letting folks know that you are looking for work. Identify businesses in your field of interest and reach out to these companies. If you are interested in a specific company, try to find someone who can "introduce" you to the hiring manager or HR department. Ask them if they know of other businesses that may be hiring or of other people that you should be speaking with. There is a whole science to the power of networking that you can investigate on the web. Networking properly can take some effort, but if you don't do this, then you may be missing out on job opportunities that will not be advertised or posted on a job board.
