View Full Version : "Wireless" Trailer/Towing Lights

Has anyone else used "Wireless" Trailer & Vehicle Magnetic Towing Lights?

I purchased a set at Pepboy's auto parts store a couple of months ago for 149.00 and I must say they work pretty darn good. I used them on my boat and utility trailer last week and to pull my car behind my RV last month. You can strap them on or use the magnetic mounts on the bottoms. All you have to do is plug the transmitter into your towing vehicles trailer wiring plug and then mount the lights on your trailer or car. The transmitter then sends the brake - turn signals and running lights information to the wireless tow lights. Total hook up time for me was less then 1 minute. I will let you know in a couple of months how they are working out.

Let me know if anyone else has a set of these..

P.S. I also found these same lights on the internet at: Store.uhaul.com - sears.com - JCWhitney.com and WirelessTowLights.com web sites for those of you who do not have a Pepboys close.

How about if you have an old truck that has a trailer ball on the rear bumper but you never got around to getting the electric hookup installed. Good for trailering just down to the local boat ramp, ya know, ya know. How about this wireless setup working, somehow's or other, on a rig like mine? :)

hey....if they can place a man on the moon....then they should be able to build an el cheapo, trailer lights system...

Sounds like an awesome idea sometimes the trailer wiring just doesn't want to reach the vehicle. I thought the greatest thing since sliced bread was when I got a wireless mouse! :D

If you have a wireless network in your house, a wireless printer is the greatest thing since the wireless mouse!

Hi FatLazyLess,

It wouldn't take much to wire a 4 wire flat plug on your pick up, then you would be ready to use a set of these lights. Just plug the transmitter in and set the magnetic based transmitter on your pickup bed, mount your lights and your are off..

...a good summer project....and what did you do this summer...spent the whole summer installing a four wire trailer hookup....if I can get this done by Labor Day...this summer will have been a big success...does Walmart carry one:) and would the local police notice that maybe I'm driving without one.....do they even care...or is that a stupid question?

If you have a wireless network in your house, a wireless printer is the greatest thing since the wireless mouse!

Yeah my wife got one of them with her new Mac, another great idea.

I have a question
I am plowing this year again and I saw online a spotlight that goes into your trailer receiver on the truck and hooks up to the four wire plug that comes off the truck and then when you go in reverse it lights up and leads teh way much like a headlight and then when you are done you just take it off. I am thinking much better than bolting lights to the Bumper as I really do not want to do that.

Has anybody actually seen this unit in action or use it, seems pretty simple mechanically and that it would work for a while? I have not see it in stores yet, I think I saw it on ebay

For the spot light to go on in reverse you need a five wire connector that includes the back up light signal. This is used in a surge brake system to release the brake when backing up.

Hello Everyone,

My brother recently went into a "Northern Tool" store in Minnetonka MN. and found that they are also selling these Wireless Tow Lights in there stores. For the heck of it I checked on line and found that Northern Tool is also selling the wireless tow lights on there web site too.

I normally would delete their "ad" but since so many of you replied I'll leave it up. However, fishing67usmc won't be participating any more.
