I believe that there a few other bikers here so a thread with reports of what is going or what is scheduled may be of interest to some. The overall schedule is at: http://laconiamcweek.com/schedule/index.htm

We took a ride this Friday afternoon through the Weirs and on up to Meredith. It looked like most vendor tents in the Weirs area were already up or almost up. Many vendors were open and there were some bikers wondering around. There might not be as many fringe vendors as in past years but hard to tell on a quick ride through.

Nothing really was set-up at Fun Spot yet. We stopped at the HD dealer; most tents are up with a lot of scurrying to get ready for tomorrow. The new owners have an opening deal planned, see: http://www.laconiaharleydavidson.com/schedule/
They have a tent with a good supply of used bikes; pretty good variety with a lot of Road Kings. Inside there is a good supply of new bikes and also a very good supply of sales staff standing around looking hopeful. I have received several e-mails from the dealer advertizing the special bike week tee shirts. They are very nice but at $28 I’ll wait to see what the leftovers are going for.

Not a biker but definately a shopper! I love the goodies in the tents and negotiating with the sales people. Not to mention the greasy sausages and thick cut fries. Always neat sunglasses, boots, clothing, jewelery etc. My mother and I were down there last night and everyone is set up and ready for action. There is not a single foot of available vendor space. From the local talk I was under the impression that many venders were not returning because they were being gauged. Doesn't look like anyone is absent. Although some may not have returned only to have others eagerly replace them. Here's wishing to a safe and enjoyable Bike Week 2009. Hope the weather is good for you guys & gals! :)

This afternoon, the weather is great! More sun than clouds, a little breeze and about 77 degrees. Hardly anyone on the water, not a lot of bikes around yet, but some of the bikes here are excellent machines.

Come on up and enjoy the next nine days!
