A few minutes ago I saw the M/S Mount Washington enroute from Center Harbor to Weirs. Signs of spring!Apparently it was the Shakedown Cruise for the Shakedown Cruise tomorrow (Monday, 10 am). A bunch of Forum members will be aboard so look for some reports and pictures here. Of course you can follow it live on the Mount Cam (http://www.cruisenh.com/mountcam.html). Hope for dry weather.

I think it was trick photography! Must have been old photos, CLA and our esteemed Webmaster are trying to form a conspiracy theory. The Crew of the Mount would never sneak her out for their own secret cruise. ;)

Just checked the Anchor Marine CAM, the Mount is not in her dock position as of yet this morning.
Yesterday could have been a test run for today. With Mother's Day on Sunday, they need her guest ready by then. Hope the economy turns around so she can stay active past this season.

Due to the good fortune of my marital status, and an understanding boss, I had the great pleasure to cruse with an impressive collection of New Hampshire citizens today. It was an experience I will not soon forget. Who would have thought being flanked by marine patrol with lights going would have been such a positive experience. Being on the Mount always makes me proud to be from New Hampshire and today was especially the case. If you have not had "the front row seat" to the best of New Hampshire lately, I highly recommend it.

Here are a few of my pictures from the shakedown cruise today. It was a nice calm day out on the lake and fun to have so many forum members to enjoy the ride with. As usual the Mount is in excellent condition and ready to go for this season.
During the presentations they announced that the Mount Washington owners have acquired the Mini-Mount (http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=514) (Little Mount). They aren't sure what they will do with it yet but it will be docked at either Weirs Beach or Meredith. The builder and previous owner of the Mini-Mount spoke and was grateful that the Mini-Mount would be maintained and preserved. I have a video of his remarks and will try to post that soon.

"Today is a great first omen as to what the season will look like," Lynch said.
I sure hope so!

Thanks for the great pictures and links.
Makes me sad that we won't be able to sail this year.
At least we have a week vacation in August.

Kirk,
Was talking about you while on the cruise. Wondered how cool would it be for them to let you go up on the roof in the middle of the ship to take one of your fabulous shots while in the broads. Panoramic view of the boat, lake and mountains.

Nice pictures!! It's always nice to see some faces to put with the forum names!! I was also trying to keep tabs on the Mount webcam during the shakedown cruise in between working.
One question though; I thought the Mount webcam was a motion cam. Am I wrong? Looks like the images update every 40 mins. or so. Please straighten me out! :)

I thought the Mount webcam was a motion cam. Am I wrong? Looks like the images update every 40 mins. or so. Please straighten me out! :)The Mount Cam uploads a picture periodically. I'm not sure what the exact interval is. I doubt that the wireless WAN connection it uses could support multiple streaming connections.
