Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even after all these years it thrills me to hear those words "Ice out on Winnipesaukee!"

The following are the water temps at the time of ice-out. This is the first time it went out at 38 degrees. :confused:

April 12, 2009 - 38 degrees at ice-out.

April 23, 2008 - 40 degrees at ice-out.

April 23 2007 - 40 degrees at ice-out

April 3, 2006 - 40 degrees at ice-out.

April 20, 2005 - 41 degrees two days before ice-out. (No recorded temps on 19th – 23rd.)

April 20, 2004 - 42 degrees at ice-out.

April 25, 2003 - 40 degrees at ice-out.

April 5, 2002 - 41 degrees the day after ice-out.

May 2, 2001 - 45 degrees at ice-out.

There are no recorded water temperatures for the preceding years.


Silver Lake in Hollis was again two weeks before Lake Winnipesaukee.

If we get enough boats going, we'll produce a good boat chop, smash the remaining drifts together hard, and turn them into chips! :laugh:

The water temperature hit 40 degrees today. I wonder why 40 degrees wasn't the magic number this year as it has been in the past? Not that I am complaining! ;)
