Jeesh, how's that for a long thread title? :D

At any rate, some people had mentioned getting together for lunch or something Sunday, 2/15, so I took the liberty of suggesting a time and also contacting Shibley's to make sure they would be open and that they take reservations...... as it's buried in the Forum Flyer thread, I've started this new one to see if there's any/how much interest in actually doing a lunch thing.

I wish I knew how to post a link between this thread and that one, but I don't, so I'll do excerpts:

Soooooooo, here's my suggestion:

I would suggest a 1:30 or 2:00 lunch time, and need a "guest list" so I can give them an idea of how many of us to expect.............. So I'll start the list. Please cut and paste to add yourself to the list, just like the summer ForumFests.

Let's all meet at the bandstand, the side "facing" Shibleys -- if I had a pole with a thong I'd put it there but I don't so.......... any volunteers? If not, I'll just blow up a couple of balloons and tape them to my hood, lol.

Hope to hear from ya'll soon!

Guest list:

1. Waterbaby and Son (2)
2. gh@altonbay (1) - probably with the only car with NJ plates in the lot (dark gray 2004 Malibu) (from what he posted)

I did hear from Shibley's, they just need an estimate of time and will worry about the # later.............

.....

I just posted in the WFF 2009 thread. Let me copy it here and "we" can continue from there.

{from the aforementioned thread}

"Mee" and I will be up sometime in the late AM. We're supposed to meet up with her cousin and family so in total (if they are willing) that would made 6 more. I know DRH and QL will be (sadly) unavailable and UTS is doing duty until at least noon. There are activites running from 11 AM on. Personally I think "Mee" is pining for a ride in a heli. I don't have a Winni thong but I do think I can come up with something recognizable. Anyway I think a meet at the bandstand is a good idea but I'm thinking around 11 AM for those who will be there then, with lunch around 1 PM ??

Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the following free events for all ages:

1:00pm- Ice Bowling and DJ

1:30pm- Scavenger Hunt

2:45pm- Parade of Beds

3:00pm- Great Alton Bay Bed Race- Co-Sponosred by Meredith Village Savings Bank, cash prize to 1st place and prizes to 2nd and 3rd place. All entrants receive a prize.

ABA events:

8:00am-10:00am- Pancake Breakfast at ABCC, $5pp.

11:00am- Sleigh Rides (fee); Snowshoe Obstacle Course; Helicopter Rides (fee); Penguin and Ice Princess walk around.

11:30am- Ventriloquist Show at Puppet Patters

12:30pm- Tug-Of War

2:00pm- Crazy Hat Contest.

ps - I wish I knew about the Crazy Hat contest earlier. I betcha I coulda been a contenda. "Mee" says I'm halfway there. I wonder about that as I almost never wear a hat ....

I cannot make it this year... my daughter will be bringing home twins from the hospital Sunday morning.

If they are delayed till Monday... I just might show up.

I may be running a few errands on Sunday morning, but will come by the Winter Carnival a little before 1 pm. Hope to see some of you at the bandstand and then at Shibley's for lunch. MAC - hope to see the Forum Flag (with or without the thong) as our meeting place near the bandstand.

I'd rather come later than 11 am to the Carnival as the bed race isn't until 3 pm, and last year it got COLD standing around for more than an hour or so.

I'm not going to make it after all, have a family crisis of sorts that just happened. I'll call Shibley's to cancel the reservation -- gh, I hope you see this. Everyone have fun, looks like the weather is going to cooperate.
