Lakeside Parking

Hi all,

I am trying to find out some information on lakeside parking for the derby this weekend, we are trying to find a area near Gilford. I was wondering if they plow the Ellacoya State Park for the derby and if there's close parking to the lake.

Any other areas would be helpful.

There should be some parking available at Ellacoya... its a busy spot to get on and off the ice...

Woodsy, How about around the Gilfors Skating Ring?

I am trying to find a place to get into where the hauling of my fishing gear will not be to bad.

The skating rink is open and I think parking there might be a little tough. Not sure if you need a Gilford sticker to park there. Another spot might be at Glendale... but again, not sure if you need a sticker to park.

While they may not enforce the sticker rule in the winter at Glendale, the parking is very limited. Upper lot is not plowed; lower lot was full early last Sunday. The ice arena may have parking for only a few but I don't know about regulations there and it will be a long walk.

Ellacoya may be the best bet but get there early. Main parking lot is not plowed. Lane to the lake on right side is plowed with probable parking on one side; also parking on the street but it will fill up fast. More parking is available in Alton bay parking lot and on the ice at your own risk, public ramp. There is a small city out there now along with the ice runway.

Harilla Landing, the end of Long Island, area has good parking on and off the ice. I am always amazed at all the cars and trucks that park on the ice over there. It looks like a big Ice Parking lot.
