I'll be retiring this Spring and my wife and I are planning to move from Cambridge, MA to live year-round on Winni. Many of the housing and condo associations look good but we are particularly attracted to Jonathan's Landing. If anyone on the forum has a place there or knows the area, I'd really appreciate any advice or opinions you might have about the place.

Info such as: Is it really feasible to live year-round there? Are the roads on Long Island plowed? The bridge from the island? Does the association plow their area? etc. Are there any special condo rules/regulations?

If you would like to correspond by E-mail:
bobper@verizon.net

Thank you for any help.

I'm up there, have been for seven years. The property is well taken care of. Maintenance does an excellent job keeping the roads cleared in the winter. If you're up there during a snow storm, he cleans you out first and then takes care of the other units. He salts and sands the driveway and walkway. Not too many people there in the winter except on weekends. All the roads in from Route 25 are cleaned pretty quickly. Monthly fee is $500.00.
Prices on the condos have been rising steadily.
Hope this helps

We lived there for 10 years and sold to buy a house on the lake. The units and grounds are beautiful. The winters are quiet there....I don't think there are to many year rounders. But to answer your questions, everything was plowed when we lived there and the walkways were shoveled.
What I consider to be the downside of "The Landing" was very high condo fees and special assessments. However it still is more economical than owning a single family home on the lake.
I suggest you contact "Preferred Properties" in Moultonboro and ask them if they would give you an owners name and number or the president of the condo association......he would have all the answers to your questions. We really enjoyed our years at "The Landing", the surroundings are gorgeous, the units were big and modern and we were fortunate to make a lot of good friends. Well hope this helped and Good Luck with your search.

$500.00 monthly!! They could not do enough to justify that robbery...

We looked to buy there and passed. Besides the $500 monthly fee, there is also a marina fee! Also the place needed alot of updating.

Yes but just about all units have deeded slips. You own the slip. The marine is second to none as far as privite cond association go. MHO

did you ever look at jonathan's? when you look at the forum - century 21 lakes region has sponsored a link, the featured house this week is a free standing condo in the weirs, on the water with a 35 foot dock slip, condo fees are only $100 a month and there is only 5 units there...
