...ok, this info has been posted elsewhere but just for convenience lets have a list of all the twofer skiing deals that are out there.

Waterville Valley - starting Monday, January5,

all Mondays & Fridays are two/one, or two ski for $65., which is still expensive at 32.50 each.

Cross country skiing is now $18/day every day.

What's up at Gunstock and Wildcat?

Isn't there also a week or two, maybe in February, during which NH residents get to ski free? (Of course it's probably during either school vacation weeks which stinks for the childless people, or the non-vacation weeks which stink for those of us WITH kids..........) I could be totally off the wall with this one, but I know it used to happen.

"Cross country skiing is now $18/day every day."

Go almost anywhere to the closest field/woods etc for free. To me paying to cross country ski is like Ronald Mcdonald paying to go eat lunch at Burger King...:laugh:

Now any field, etc is fine as long as you don't want groomed trails. That is what the $18.00 is for, nice groomed trails!

Cross-country skiing, Thursdays, at Waterville Vaalley are a retroactive, half-price. You pay $18 on the first Thursday, and then it is free on your next returning Thursday. Now, why did they chose that as opposed to a two skiers/$18 Thursday?

The 100km cross country trail system at Waterville Valley is almost always empty. It's basically a ghost area. Except for the diesel powered Piston Bully trail groomer, which does a terrific job, the trails are very empty. Before the skating style of skiing was developed, and all cross-country was tyrolean style, it got many more participants. Where have all the cross-country skiers gone?
