Took the kids for our annual holiday vacation sleigh ride by car from Danvers MA to Guiseppe's in Meredith for lunch and then took Routes 25/109 to Wolfeboro for a stop at the summer spot we rent on Jockey Cove. Still some snow on the ground up there but the best part of the day was listening to the three kids tell stories of "Remember when...." covering our 19 years of vacation up there. It is remarkable how different the look is up there in Winter. No ice on the cove and pretty much open water looking across Wolfeboro Bay. Told the lake we would be back in six or seven months-cant wait-it is a beautiful spot up there, no matter what the season. Hope to hit the lottery someday so I can buy a place up there.....

That's a great annual trip. A tradition that grows stronger every year by remembering past good times and traditions!
Being there in a different season is a lot of fun. A few years back, I went up to see the lake in winter having never been there other than summer. It was a beautiful day to cross country ski on Winter Harbor and out onto the Broads. Enjoyed seeing all the cottages and camps, including the one we rent. Very strange sensation to ski where we swim and kayak. Swung around the lake to see the Mount hauled out in Center Harbor.
A great place to be in any season!
