Half Moon

Hi. I'm an Irish student and have been offered a job at Half Moon doing a combination of things such as waitressing, working in gift shop+arcade and occasionally working as a chambermaid. Could anyone tell me what the Half Moon is like and also what the area is like and whether it is possible to get internet access? Thanks!

The Half moon is located at Weirs Beach in new Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee. Its one of the busiest places on the lake. There are many activities throughout the summer months...4th of July, Bike week(great harleys and venders) etc etc In the summer you will have access to the glta which is public transport. There also is internet available if you have your own pc via telephone or cable access. If you do not, you can go to the library in Laconia to use a pc. You will be in a great area with lots of things to do. What a great experience for you..Welcome to America

Here is a link (below) to their web site if you haven't already seen it. My wife and I have stayed at the motel several times. It is a bit "tacky" and overpriced but the view is spectacular. The area can be as noisy or as quiet as you like, depending on which direction you walk. Weirs Beach is a rather typical American tourist town with lots to see, do, and eat. It is never dull or boring. My wife loves the Pizza from the Half Moon Pizza stand. Hope you enjoy your stay and remember, for every loud overbearing tourist there are hundreds more really nice people that live, work, or visit at "The Weirs".

The owners are good folks from what I hear.
We have been renting a slip at the Weirs for many years. The gentleman that runs Anchor Marine at the Weirs a short walk from the moon, is
Bob Andrews. He has welcomed Exchange students for many years.
Young adults like yourself have been working at the Marina for Bob pumping gas as well as working at the Half Moon.
Last year we had some ladies from Russia.
