Sled to Tow behind snowmobile

I tried to find the thread that talked about the tow behind sleds last year..no luck :(. I'm looking for one of those utility type black plastic sleds ...tried Rileys in Manch, HK power sports, and Livingstons...no luck. Any one know where they have these in stock?? Trying for x mas gift

Cabellas has a cheap plastic one that I just bought.

Just be aware the law says it is unlawful "to tow any person or sled without a rigid hitch". That is why the fold-up type dogsled types are so nice (but pricey).

So if someone is going ice fishing on the lake, your saying it's illegal to tow your traps and equipment in a plastic ice sled or similar equipment box in tow by rope??...

90% of fisherman I see on the lake ice fishing are breaking the law then. I can understand that law on the trails but not on an open frozen lake.

What about when people are towing their bob houses around the lake by rope??...

Hopefully and I'm pretty certain, this is one of those common sense laws that Fish & Game would certainly ignore while ice fishing.

It was probably written after they saw some idiot towing his 5 year old down a trail at high speed. I guess I break the law also when I tow a disabled sled home with my tow rope.

Go with one of those bobsled folding metal types. We have had ours for almolst 20 years and it still works great. I don't know where you live but I think I saw someone selling them in Meredith last year. Maybe at AJ's bait and tackle? I think they are worth the extra $$$.

I assume you want this for ice fishing.

I believe I've seen both the dogseld style and plastic Jet Sleds at AJ's in Meredith.

I have both types. The big and beefy plastic sleds are fine and the smaller thinner plastic sleds are less stable (obviously). If you are going to use it much the rigid hitch is essential.

Can someone guide me where to go and get the actual hitch for my snowmobile. I have a homegrown trailer that was given to me by a generous neighbor. The trailer is a wooden box mounted on a steel frame with metal snowmobile skis. The metal bar has the pin through two holed, (more like a bolt and nut). I need the actual hitch that mounts on the rear bar of the sled.

Any help, links, photos, advice will be most appreciated. :)
