To all of you heading north, it looks like the weather will cooperate with you. We just came back from two weeks at the lake and I think the sun shown (i.e. no rain at all) for only four of those days. We even came home early as we had run out of rainy day things to do.

So, my summer wasn't complete this year as our trip to the lake just wasn't what it usually is. I sure hope those of you making your way to heaven for the last two weeks of August have better luck than we did this year.

Nonetheless, a bad day at the lake is most certainly better than a good WEEK in New Jersey. Can't believe it is over for another year.

Only 300 days until we go back!

nj2nh...sympathy to you from further south. I know my visits back are always over in a short time, even when the weather is decent! I also remember, when living there, what a heartbreak a rainy summer would be. We had all hung on by our toenails after the long winter; and the idea the summer would be a rainy one was unthinkable. Of course, Mother Nature could always say "Think again"! It is a long wait between summers, though. For me it may be even two summers. I will say I am in a nice place, with lots of sunshine (as long as you can deal with a 104 heat index every now and then); but there is NO place like the Lake in the summer. Hopefully nobody will "look at you funny" when you tell them you are counting the days until you get to heaven, again! Lots of us DO understand.

I can totally relate, my two weeks were mostly a wash out as well and unfortunately my daughter and granddaughter join me on week 2 for the first time at the lake and had 1 1/2 days of decent weather. Being from CA neither of them has EVER seen that much rain in a week let alone a year in SCA.
My only consolation is I am returning for a week in October and hope for better weather!
