Anyone know what insurance companies offer discounts for taking boat lessons? Also, what proof do they need? Is a receipt enough? I finally had my boat lesson on docking and cruising and would just like to see if it can help me out in the insurance dept. My current insurer, Boat US, doesn't give a discount for that, only if you took a full blown course.

We had good luck with both of these companies for great rates. Can't remember if we got a discount for the boat safety course or not though.

We got a discount with State Farm. We need to submit copies of our certificates.

Well, I got a discount from Boat US for taking a boating safety course but they said they don't have additional discounts for taking lessons, which is what I was referring to. I guess you could say I'm digging deep looking for more than the average discounts.

Most Insurance companies I have delt with, are only looking for Safe Boating Courses. I lot of people can sit through a course and answer a test. That doesn't mean they can still dive. You would think lessons would mean just as much.
