N.H. endangered list to lose birds, gain bunny

Whatever happened to the rabbits? I remember when I was a little girl (30 years ago) in Newton NH and Stoddard NH, there were rabbits everywhere. I don't know if there were any up here since I've only been enjoying the lakes region for the past 5 years.

I don't know if they were prevalent in the lakes region. Anyone know or remember seeing any of those critters running around here.

Like the article says, it's pretty hard to tell the difference between the New England Cottontail and the Eastern Cottontail...I know I couldn't.

Growing up in northern Vermont the most prevalent "bunny" was the Snowshoe Hare. Very rarely (maybe never?) did I see any of the Cottontails.
