There's been a few threads on dog friendly places. I wanted to share about an experience we had about a very dog friendly campground - Tamworth Campground. (http://www.tamworthcamping.com/)
We took the two kids and the dog, Tanker, camping there this weekend and it went very well. Tanker was pretty much allowed EVERYWHERE we could go, with the exception of the beach at the swimming hole BUT he could enter the water to swim via a path right next to the beach - no big deal. (We did have some dog-UN-friendly person try to tell us off for that but according to the campground owners we were correct that he could be in the water - just not on the main beach.)
There was live entertainment, a hay ride, nice little camping spots, and it was about $29/night. There was also mini golf, a game room - just lots to do!
Highly recommended for the whole family!
