Both today's June 14 Citizen and Laconia Daily Sun have articles about the Belknap County sheriff's un-election due to a violation of the state's right-to-know law about one year ago.

The New Hampshire Supreme Court came out with a ruling that differs from the local Belknap Superior Court. At the time of the local judge's ruling last May 2007, I was thinking that it could be a difficult situation to rule against the sheriff. After all, the judiciary and the sheriff are seperate but at the same time work together. The sheriff's dept maintains court security and administers the rulings of the judiciary.

As the saying goes about people in the same boat: 'If I tip the boat, we all get wet.'

If you have any interest in the local political process or wonder about your county property taxes, it's an interesting read. :)
