As many of you know I am new to the lake. I saw a poster on the door at Fay's about the LWSA Cruise to where the wind blows. I think this would be a good opportunity to get to meet some fellow boaters but more importantly be able to have the opportunity to learn some of the lake by following other more experience boaters on the lake.

My question is: Has anyone ever done this cruise, and how is it? What experiences have been noted and is it something that someone new to Winni should take advantage of?

Any comments? Suggestions?

I think its a great idea, but its a sailboat cruise. Don't you have a powerboat?

Three items for consideration:

1.) The Lake is public - for all boaters.

2.) You should be able to stay with them - sailboats in general are not faster than powerboats.

3.) In general, sailboats require more water depth (draft) than powerboats. You should not have to worry about obstructions nor shallow water, as you follow them.

Have fun following your new freinds, as they voyage the Lake. :D

Of course all you said is true, but it would be like biking along with a bunch of people walking - it would get old fast. I can't imagine going at idle speed for hours near a bunch of sailboats not knowing if I was in their next tack line.
