Hi all,
I'm coming up to the lake on Memorial Day and will stay for several days. I am going to try to get up there early enough to see the Craft Show in Meredith. Has anyone been to that and is it a good show?
Also, I heard there will be fireworks at Weirs that night. Any tips on that or any other Memorial Day events?
I'm going to be traveling cross state from either Claremont or Lebanon to the lakes and am wondering if anyone knows if there are communities where I can expect tie ups or delays because of Memorial Day parades and activities and are there places to avoid ? thanks. Can't wait to get up there.

Captain Doug DiCenzo Memorial Bridge dedication, Memorial Day, Plymouth, New Hampshire.

Captain of the 1995 Plymouth football team, West Point Military Academy graduate, killed in action, Iraq, May 2006.

His mother is a long time, Plymouth elementary school teacher.

By an act of the New Hampshire legislature, the newly constructed bridge that crosses the Pemigewasset River has been dedicated to him.

Governor Lynch and many others will be there.

Suggest you google Doug DiCenzo.

Yup, it was in the Weirs Times:

"The Funspot family will once again be welcoming one and all to help them celebrate the start to the summer season and their 56th year on Saturday, May 24th at the Family Entertainment Center in the Weirs with a fantastic fireworks display starting at 10pm.

This will be the 36th year that Funspot has sponsored the Fireworks kickoff and each year has seen a bigger and better show.

The fireworks are shot in sync with music which is broadcast by FRANK FM 99 & 104.9 which coordinates the music with Atlas. It’s always a full house for fireworks at Funspot so it is suggested that you get there early for a good spot.

The Funspot Family Entertainment Center is the largest arcade in the world with over 500 games including recent arrivals like the brand-new, interconnected 4-player NASCAR driving game. You can also step back in time and visit the Classic Arcade Museum on the third level which has over two hundred classic games from the 80s.

So don't miss out on what has become “The” Lakes Region traditional summer kick-off at Funspot on Saturday, May 24th. (Raindate is Sunday, May 25th.)

The Funspot Family Entertainment Center is located on Rte 3 between Meredith and Weirs Beach and is open all year. For more information call 603-366-4377 or click www.FunspotNH.com.

These have been really good fireworks in the past and have now become a tradition in my family.

Driving up from Mass. to visit the craft fair in Meredith has been a Memorial Day tradition in our family for many years; it is a good time. We usually buy the kettle corn pop corn and visit to the town docks to relax after walking around the fair.

Unfortunately, because of the price of gas we won't be visiting the fair this year.
