I used to be able to get fresh eggs from a co-worked who purchased them from a neighbor... would love to be able to buy fresh eggs again, as they are just terrific and the rich coloring is so dramatic. Appreciate any feedback! We live over near Suissevale...

NOFA-NH has an online farm locator on their website. Another great group to send an email to is Small and Beginner Farmers of NH - lots of Lakes Region members: http://www.beginnerfarmers.org/ .

We buy eggs from the Banfill farm in Tamworth....they sell commericially only but used to distribute to some local srores.....I'd ask around.
The eggs are so fresh the chickens don't even know they're gone yet.

You can purchase eggs directly from Carroll Banfill (sp) 323-8889. He supplies a few local stores and restaurants. He will sell you some pullets or chickens also if you so desire. Mostly RI Reds. I have delt with him off and on for 6 years and is a very nice man. Knows all about chickens for sure. I have eggs if you are interested. We have a small farm in East Sandwich not far from Suissevale. Send me a private message and I will contact you. We get between 8-10 eggs a day from our chickens. They are fertile also if that matters. How about a pair of geese that are mating and laying? Anyone interested in Bonny and Clyde?

This article was in the most recent Yankee Magazine.
His farm is in Northfield, just past Tilton...
Great story...

WOW! I didn't know Bert was in this month's Yankee. I'll have to get it. He lives just down the hill from us, and farms the property across the street from my house. He's a very sweet country farmer. Since we moved to Northfield 5 years ago, we get our pumpkins and indian corn from him each fall, and pick up his eggs at the Library (he doesn't do deliveries UP the hill, only DOWN the hill towards town ;) ) I was going to post about him, when I saw the title of the thread. You know it's Friday and that Berts out when you see horse manure on the roads...

Stop at the farmstand on Rte109 (Family Farm or something like that name). They're not open yet but should be out starting the fields. Believe they may have something for you.
