The lake is now at or above full. This is indicated by the rocks of Black Cat Shoals (normally visible in the Black Cat WeatherCam) being completely submerged this morning. The last officially reported lake level by NH DES was 504.10 feet above sea level, at 1 a.m. yesterday. Full lake level is 504.32 feet above sea level.

We almost added water to it last weekend, glad we didn't. Our little stream is close to running up into the yard, and our sump pump is working overtime. Guess those burning permits might come back out this week...

One minute we are worried about "WHEN WILL IT SNOW?" then it's "TOO MUCH SNOW!" - next its "WHEN WILL IT EVER ALL MELT" - then we're on to - "I HOPE IT DOESNT MELT TOO FAST!" Then its sunny and warm and its a complaint of "NO BURNING! WE NEED RAIN!" - then it's "DROUGHT - ADD MORE WATER" to the lake or we'll never be able to launch our boats - then it rains - 2 little inches and it's "OPEN THE DAM!" My 7 year old is easier to please!:rolleye1:

Awwww come on Wildwood - we went from mud season to drought to flooding in a week, that's certainly worthy of some discussion since we can't see any ospreys on the osprey cam and who wants to work in this dreary weather??

BTW, my 6yo is way easier to please - nothing made her happier than wearing mud boots to school this morning! ;)

After 2.37 inches of rain from this storm (2.50 in the last 3 days) at Black Cat Weather Station, radar indicates more bands of moderate and heavy rain rotating in off the ocean this afternoon.

The lake will likely continue rising as the currently-falling rain finds its way in via runoff, river, and stream.

A small stream flood advisory continues for most of the area today as streams exceed bankfull.

A flood warning is in effect for sections of the following rivers in NH: Pemigewasset, Connecticut, Saco, and Warner.

The rain is now just part of this storm system. More details on the weather thread.

There is a lot of good data out there, I happen to like this graph:

Good news: The rain is over. Radar shows the trailing edge of today's storm system now in Maine and heading east.

Flood warnings for the Pemigewasset, Saco, Connecticut and other rivers have been extended into tomorrow due to a new forecast for river cresting tomorrow morning, which is much later than originally forecast. While these rivers don't flow into the lake, the fact that they are still rising indicates that the numerous smaller sources feeding this lake are probably just as swollen.

The storm ended as snow over northern New Hampshire and I observed a few snowflakes here at Winni during the last few minutes of the storm here. I believe this is the latest snowfall since 2002, when snow fell in May.
