Pork Pie Cookoff!

Are you known for your tourtiere, meat pie, or pork pie recipe? Or are you just obsessed with eating them?

In celebration of the 400th anniversary of Quebec, the Laconia Historical & Museum Society invites you to participate in our Pork Pie Cookoff Saturday April 12th from 6:00-7:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church. Here's your chance to become the next pork pie king or queen! Prizes will be awarded. The public chooses the winner. All proceeds go to benefit educational programs at the Laconia Historical & Museum Society.

OK,now you must be needing some people to taste and judge the entries right?You know where I'm going with this don't you?

Absolutely! Why do you think I'm planning this?! I'm hungry myself.

Here's the scoop-- $5 gets you six tastings and a ballot sheet. Doors open at 6:00. Tastings go until 7:00ish. Voting ends at 7:15 pm and winner will be announced around 7:30. Want to try more than six pies? Another $5 gets you another six tastings. All proceeds go to support Laconia Historical's educational programs.

I figure we need at least 15 people to make this event a go, so let me know if you're interested in entering.

We'll also collect recipes from each contestants to include in a French-Canadian cookbook that we'll sell this summer. I'll update the forum when that happens.
