What are typical rates for on-site stretchwrapping?

For people who charge by the running foot I would say $10-12.00 is reasonable. Some charge by the square foot.

While we're on the subject of covering boats, has anyone every used a Fisher canvas boat cover instead of shrink wrap?

They are pretty pricey but they're supposed to be cheaper in the long run than shrink wrap. I wonder how they would hold up to NH winters.

My wife thinks I'm a cheapskate.......but I carefully removed the shrinkwrap from my 26' and used it on my 20' the next year.All you need is some good bungee's to pull it tight.You can't usually re-use it on the same boat because it is molded around the engines and outdrives and has to be trimmed a little to get it off.Always nice to save a buck with gas going up.

While we're on the subject of covering boats, has anyone every used a Fisher canvas boat cover instead of shrink wrap?
I've always use canvas cover. They last for a good 15 years if supported correctly. They allow the boat to breath so the boat does not smell musty in the spring. Never had a problem with mold, mildew or spores. This is what I hear is a big complaint with those who use shrink wrap.

I put two tarps on my boat (24' sail) and works well every year. I use large clothes detergent bottles filled 3/4 with water and bungees. I buy tarps at Teds on Rte 16 in Osippee for about $25 each, replacing the rips as needed.
I also can get into it at anytime.

I use a 20'X30' heavy duty tarp. I put a board across the back using the cleats to attach. Put four 2X4 boards down from the windshield to the board in back. Put 2 sheets of particle board on top. Put a a 2X4 from windshield down to anchor well in front. Put in moth balls and then put tarp on and tie down. Takes an hour or so. Been doing this for 30 years, no problems at all.
