October 14, and still no frost! Where's the frost? When's it getting here? It's not at all uncommon to get a frost in the last days of September, here in central hilly New Hampshire, but not this year. The temp is a warm 38 degrees, here at latitude 44, and elevation 1250', about 25 miles north of Lake Winnipesaukee. Kinda tough to predict the weather.

Plenty of frost in the central hilly areas around Ossipee & Tamworth yesterday morning.

The National Weather Service in Gray ME issued a statement yesterday saying that temperatures throughout most of NH had dipped low enough to end the growing season in most areas. Therefore they will no longer be issuing frost or freeze warnings until after the growing season begins again in spring.
