This past weekend, either late Friday night, early Saturday morning, the brand new sign that was just put up on Rte 25 a couple of weeks ago for Sands of Brookhurst in Merideth, was vandalized. The whole bottom section that read "Members and guests only" was literally ripped from the sign, causing a large chunck of the remaining sign to be ripped out. $2000 piece of property, destroyed. The hard work that went into the sign...the design, the meetings with DOT, the constuction of the posts...everything....and for what? Some idiots to come by and destroy it. A car was heard speeding around the neighborhood around 3:30 a.m. and then speeding out onto rte 25. Thats probably when it happened.
We also heard that a sign was recently taken from in front of the interlakes High School recently. Coincidence?
