I am a snowmobiler. The jack a** that was ripping around the lake on 2/7/04 is not!

How many times have we been warned that loud pipes on sleds will be the demise of our sport! As a 30 year+ member of the Wolfeboro Snowmobile Club that has warned us all time and again that the loud pipes will cause the closing of our trails!

As I sat outside Wolfeboro bay on Feb. 7th ice fishing with a group of friends I witnessed an extremely loud snowmobile that preceded to scream around the area ALL DAY LONG! The noise, I am sure, could be heard in Gilford!

I am a gentleman and as many will attest a good guy, but man oh man did I want to grab that jerk by the throat and dunk his head in my fishing hole.

PLEASE! If you know of ANYONE running a sled with loud pipes do us all a favor and explain to them the importance of silencing their machine. The Future of our sport depends on the intelligence of us all to do what the private land owners have asked of us; 1) No PIPES! 2) Respect the property, stay on the trail! 3) No late night riding!

YOU DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA HOW CLOSE WE CAME TO LOSING OUR TRAIL SYSTEM THIS PAST OFF SEASON. PLEASE HELP US STOP THE ABUSE...

I know what you mean about the pipes. Same goes for ATV's as well. But unfortunatly the few who run the extremely load pipe don't care.
But it could have been worse. At least it was during the day and out on the lake, although they had to get there from somewhere.
Can't understand how one can stand the noise. I have a stock pipe on mine and it seem loud at time's and I'm not an old buck either.
How's the fishing out on the lake this year?
We were up in Maine a few weeks ago and saw a mounted 30+ pound laker taken out of Moosehead Lake by a local.
Think he took it out back in the late 90's.

As a group we did pretty well with the fishing. As an individual...not so good. I was up at The Forks Maine a week ago and they do seem to pull bigger fish than we do.
