Just to let you know about some bicycling opportunities in Wolfeboro:
--- A group of mountain bikers meets every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. to explore trails. Meet behind the Nordic Skier shop (which is on North Main Street). All abilities welcome; the pace depends on who shows up. It's not a bad idea to make a quick call to the Nordic (569-3151) during the day to make sure the ride is going off and get an idea about the plan for the evening.
--- A group of women road bike riders leave from the same location on Wednesday evenings at 5:30. All abilities welcome. Again, a quick call to the shop during the day is a good idea.
--- Sunday morning road rides are becoming a regular thing. These rides are often at 6:30 a.m. and meet in the Loves Quay parking lot off Bay Street. The rides are early so people can get back in time to go to church or fulfill family obligations. A call to the Nordic on Saturday is a must because these rides sometimes leave earlier or later or not at all. These rides are typically at an enthusiast/training pace -- not exactly race training, but not leaf-peeping, either.
Any questions, call the Nordic or message me. Steve Frothingham
