I know a name was posted somewhere but I cannot find it through searches so I'll ask probably a repetitive question: Who is a master at small outboard repair. Ideally, I would like them to be able to test run the motor on the boat as it has been test tanked and we cannot nail the problem there. I have a Merc 15 hp.
Thanks

Is it Dave's Motorboat shop in Gilford?
There are a few outboard head-scratchers here. :emb:
(Might save a trip. )
Was the same gas tank used on the boat as when testing in the tank?

Same tank even changed the fuel. Went back to the basics: fuel or spark. Good spark so I know am dealing with fuel. Trouble is at high speed that I don't get the full power. Once in a while you feel it kick in but then it's as though I throttle down. The high speed carb adjustments are no more. I used to have a 9.9 on this boat and the 15 performs no better. I'm stumped so that's why I am seeking a master. Dave's was the name I heard mentioned. I dropped it off to him yesterday.

I am having a fuel related problem as well because of the ethanol in the gasoline down here in Mass. Fortunately there is no ethanol at the lake.
Did you buy your gas at the lake or south of Concord?
I found a product called Star-Tron made by Starbright that has been able to get the boat running again so I can burn off the fuel before replacing it with fresh gasoline and adding a water separator to the system.
A royal pain but I've heard talk that E-25 is right around the corner....can't wait!
