Hi Guys & Gals,
Did anyone else notice Fred Fuller is no longer at the gas station on Rt. 25, near the Moultonboro neck? Did he move or is he "disappearing" like other oil companies? Anyone know the "Scoop?"

It is Rob's Gas Depot now, although it looks like he just made up a new sign to advertise his pizzas.

Here is the story I've been hearing about Fullers for the last couple years:

Mr. and Mrs. Fuller split up. He kept the oil business, she got the store. I remember there were a bunch of changes in the store when I heard that had happened.

Last year, she sold the store to a guy from Mass. (Rob) and his wife who continue to run it as a 'Mom & Pop" business, but using their own ideas, as any business owner would.

I never verified the above story, but I kept hearing it from different people and it was always the same. I'm sure the 'official' info is out there if you're really curious.

We'll still call it Fuller's, no matter who bought it. That's the "goodwill" part of the purchase price. That's just like negative goodwill, when Fred Robbins sold his convenience store! The buyer thought he was getting "goodwill" and bought negative goodwill, although he didn't knw it at the time. That's why it's a canoe and kayak store today. Or maybe not, it may be vacant, haven't been by there lately.

The Mrs got the building in the divorce settlement. The fuel office in the back was Freds. Hence Fred had to vacate the building. The Mrs was smart enough to sell the business of the convience store. Fuller Oil still operates, we use the Laconia office. Both the fuel service and the new owners of the store are still reputable.
