Coastal boatyards in Massachusetts annually use an estimated 130 tons of LDPE, according to a study by Haley & Aldrich, a national environmental consulting firm in Boston. Thanks to the Massachusetts Marine Shrink Wrap program around 25 percent, or 36 tons, of boat shrink wrap was recycled in 2002.

Don't forget Winnisquam-Marine started shrinkwrap recycling in 2006, and they may be a closer location to you.
